Six things
we do, and
do properly.
Every engagement includes design, build, release and the operating work that follows. We do not hand a repository over and disappear.
Mobile applications
Native Android in Kotlin, or cross-platform in Flutter when one codebase genuinely serves both platforms better than two. We handle the full lifecycle: architecture, interface, release to Google Play and the App Store, and the maintenance work that follows every OS release and store policy change.
- Native Android (Kotlin, Jetpack Compose) and cross-platform (Flutter)
- Store submission, review handling, staged rollouts and release management
- Push notifications, offline-first behaviour, background sync
- Over-the-air updates for fixes that should not wait on store review
- Crash reporting and performance monitoring wired in from day one
Web platforms & APIs
Customer-facing sites, administrative dashboards, and the APIs joining them to everything else. We care about the parts users never see — response times, sensible caching, and code the next engineer can read.
- Next.js and Node.js applications, server-rendered where it matters for speed and search
- REST and realtime APIs, with documentation written as the API is built
- Relational data modelling in MySQL or PostgreSQL, with migrations under version control
- Authentication, roles and permissions designed before features are layered on top
- Multilingual and right-to-left interfaces as a first-class concern, not a retrofit
Custom business software
When off-the-shelf software forces a business to work backwards, a purpose-built system usually pays for itself. We start from how the work is actually done — including the parts that live in spreadsheets and someone's memory.
- Ordering, booking, inventory, scheduling and reporting systems
- Workflow automation across tools that were never designed to talk to each other
- Integrations with payment providers, messaging platforms and third-party APIs
- Migration from existing systems, spreadsheets or paper, without losing history
- Admin interfaces built for the people who will use them all day
Cloud & infrastructure
Software that is not deployed carefully will eventually fail in a way nobody planned for. We set up infrastructure so that the failure modes are known, the alerts arrive before your customers do, and recovery is a documented procedure.
- Provisioning, hardening and deployment on Linux servers or managed cloud
- Automated deployments with a rollback that has actually been tested
- Monitoring, alerting and log aggregation
- Backups with scheduled restore tests — a backup nobody has restored is a hope, not a backup
- TLS, DNS, CDN and DDoS protection configured correctly the first time
Point of sale & back office
Retail and hospitality software is judged at the counter, with a queue waiting. It has to be fast, hard to get wrong under pressure, and still work when the internet does not.
- Android point-of-sale applications for counters, tablets and handheld terminals
- Thermal receipt printing, including correct Arabic and Kurdish rendering
- Offline operation with reconciliation once connectivity returns
- Shift management, cash reconciliation and daily reporting
- Back-office reporting across multiple branches
Consulting & support
Sometimes the useful thing is not a new build. We review what exists, say plainly what is wrong with it, and help you decide what is worth fixing — including when the answer is to leave it alone.
- Architecture and code review with a written findings report
- Technology selection, with the trade-offs stated rather than hidden
- Performance investigation and cost reduction on existing systems
- Security review of authentication, data handling and third-party exposure
- Ongoing maintenance retainers for software you already run
Three ways we usually work.
- A Fixed-scope projectA defined build with an agreed scope, price and delivery date. Best when what you need is clear enough to specify. Includes a warranty period after launch.
- B Ongoing retainerA set amount of engineering capacity each month for continuous development, maintenance and support. Best for products that keep evolving after launch.
- C Consulting engagementA time-boxed review or advisory piece ending in a written report and a recommendation you can act on with or without us.
Not sure which fits? Describe the problem and we will tell you which one we think it is — including if the honest answer is that you do not need custom software at all.
Tell us what
you need built.
A few sentences is enough to start: what it should do, who will use it, and any deadline you are working to.
